Livermore City Hall, Police, Library Sites Reopening To Public

LIVERMORE, CA — Livermore city facilities, including city hall, police headquarters and the library, began reopening Monday for in-person services with COVID-19 precautions in place and in compliance with Alameda County Public Health guidelines, officials said.




Hours vary by building or agency, and some may require appointments, while others allow walk-ins. Residents, however, are encouraged to conduct business online or over the phone when possible.

"We're excited to start the reopening process of our city facilities," Livermore officials said. "For the health and safety of visitors and staff, precautions are in place to mitigate the risk of spreading COVID-19."


At City Hall, 1052 South Livermore Ave., the Community Development Department (planning, housing, building and engineering) is open by appointment only. All other departments are by appointment or walk-in.

At Livermore Police Department headquarters,1110 S. Livermore Ave., hours are 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday, by appointment or walk-in.





The Civic Center Library at 1188 South Livermore Ave. is open by appointment from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m. Mondays through Fridays.

And do note: The following health precautions/mandates are implemented:

  • Masks are required to be worn at all times when in shared and/or common spaces.
  • COVID screening, including a brief oral symptom check and temperature scan (using a touchless thermal scanner).
  • Physical distancing of at least six feet from anyone outside your household. All floor markings and barriers should be observed.
  • Capacity is limited with some departments only offering select services during onsite visits.
  • Most shared seating has been eliminated.
  • The facilities, including restrooms, countertops, and high touch surfaces, are disinfected frequently.
  • Hand sanitizer is available for use.
